The International Women's Day 2022 campaign of #BreakTheBias is especially personal to us.
We firmly believe that without the work of everyone, individuals, women and men, companies and institutions, it will be impossible to end the many biases that surround domestic abuse.
- Let's break the bias on the reluctance to talk and the silence of stigma
- Let's break the bias on unfairly judging women affected domestic abuse and 'victim blaming' when we ask "Why didn't she just leave?"
- Let's break the bias on the lack of understanding and support in the workplace
- Let's break the bias on sexist violence against women, a scourge that we must completely eradicate
- Lets break the bias of misogyny in our society
- Let's break the bias in the way we communicate about domestic abuse, in the language we use as individuals and as companies
- Let's break the bias of shame about domestic abuse in our communities, in our schools and in our offices
Our 2022 Corporate Social Responsibility plan is to continue our work with The Property Angels Foundation, the domestic abuse charity we set up which supports families locally.
One of our central actions and of which we are most proud, will be breaking the bias by raising awareness, speaking out about abuse and educating our community. We will humbly try to do our bit to help these families progress in life and overcome those terrible episodes in their lives.
Did you know? The first International Women's Day was in 1909. Long may we celebrate.
